Track Policies:

  • All scheduled events are subject to change.
  • The track owner has the right to cancel an event if the track is deemed unsafe or unusable due to inclement weather (rain, snow, or lightning).
  • Make-up dates will be discussed between the track owner and series organizers if conditions are questionable.
  • GATE FEES ARE SET BY THE TRACK/PROPERTY OWNERS, NOT THE SERIES. Please contact all tracks that you plan on going to about their track fees. All phone numbers are listed under the tracks’ names. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Tracks may charge a camping fee per vehicle to cover cleaning costs; please be sure to pick up after yourself.
  • Some tracks offer electric and water hookups.
  • Check with the specific track for food vendor availability and gate opening/closing times.

Memberships & Fees
Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC is an AMA Chartered Series (View AMA 2026 Rulebook)

  • Adult: $49
  • Youth (11 & younger): $35
  • Race Fees: $40 for a single class.
  • Multiple Classes: $40 for the first class and $25 for each additional class.
  • A separate form is required for each class a rider signs up for. There are specific race forms for both adult and youth riders. Go to americanmotorcyclist.com to complete your forms.
  • SIGN-UP FEES FOR ALL RACE CLASSES WILL BE CASH ONLY.
  • SIGN-UP FEES FOR YOUR AMA MEMBERSHIP CARD. YOU CAN USE CASH, PERSONAL CHECK OR CREDIT CARD. Thank you

Level Classification

A Class = Expert Level
B Class = Intermediate Level
C Class = Novice Level

“A” Class rider’s ability level is determined by their actual ability to ride in a given class

As a rider in the Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC., we reserve the right to move any rider to the appropriate class after documenting said rider’s results over a period of events. (This is to keep the racing as fair as possible and for us to make any needed rider advancement changes as a result of their finishes.)

Minor Safety

  • Minors (Under 18): Both parents or a legal guardian must be present at all times.
  • Documentation: Parents must complete the AMA minor release form and provide documentation or cards to prove guardianship. We will not under any circumstances allow a minor to race without this documentation. A minor release form is required for every event.
  • You can go to americanmotorcyclist.com and fill out the form to save time or call 1-800-262-5646 and remember you have to have both parents and/or legal guardian with you at sign up, or you don’t get to race.

Personal Insurance & Liability Insurance

  • Insurance: All members and riders are required to carry their own liability and medical insurance to cover injury or deaththat may occur at any of our events.
  • Central States Vintage Motocross Series LLC, their officers, volunteers & staff, the race facilities and any and all sponsors are not responsible for any rider/spectator/family member. This includes to and from any and all events held by Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC.
  • Liability: Officers, volunteers, staff, facilities, and sponsors are not responsible for riders or spectators.
  • Insurance Warning: Motocross is a dangerous sport; if you do not have insurance, do not race.

Bike Identification

  • Borrowed Bikes: If your bike breaks and you borrow a class-legal replacement, you must notify the starting gate personnel or myself before your race starts.
  • Race numbers and backgrounds must be readable.
  • Number Plates: Numbers should be at least 5″ tall. Any letters that may be on your number plates, please make them a minimum of 3” tall and on the bottom right on all 3 number plates.
  • Pre-1975: Yellow backgrounds with black numbers.
  • 1975 and up: White backgrounds with black numbers.
  • Small bike & modern bike to 2011: Please use yellow or white backgrounds with numbers that can be seen easily.
  • KTM Riders: If using orange plates, please use white numbers/letters.
  • Being a scorekeeper is a very important job; please make it easy for them to score you.

Bike Inspections & Safety Equipment

  • Inspections: Any and all motorcycles to be raced at any of Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC., are subject to safety inspections to ensure they are legal for their class.
  • Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC., reserves the right to refuse any bike for safety and or legality issues in a given class.
  • Riding Gear: All riders must wear protective riding equipment that is correct for the sport.
  • Attire: It is mandatory that all competitors wear a proper chest and back protector. It can easily be worn under or over the jersey. Long sleeve shirts, pants, proper boots, and eye protection.
  • New for 2026: No open-face helmets allowed, per AMA rules.

Race Day Procedures

  • It is the riders responsability to know what race they are in. It will be posted at signup as soon as it is ready.
  • Rider Meeting: Attendance is mandatory; riders must be dressed and ready to go.
  • Punctuality: Time is a crucial part of racing. To ensure that everything goes at a timely manor show up to the gate early with your wristband on to avoid cutting laps.
  • Gate Stand: A stand at the gate will indicate which moto is currently on the gate; it is the rider’s responsibility to check it.
  • 2-Minute Rule: Riders have 2 minutes to get to the gate once the checkered flag is thrown for the previous race. After that, the gate will drop.
  • Split Gates: Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC., reserves the right to do a split gate drop; A class riders always go first. (Most tracks are set up with 2 individual gates, one on the left and one on the right. Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC. reserves the right to decide which side the riders will line up, and it depends on how many are in the A, B, and C class where they will line up.
  • Remember to always carry your membership card/paperwork with you, or you will have to do an AMA renewal to be able to race, and I know you don’t want to pay twice.

Rules of Conduct

  • All participants, spectators, and family members must obey all rules and act in a safe manner at all times.
  • Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC reserves the right to revoke access or deny entry to anyone not following rules; no refunds will be given.
  • Lifetime Ban: Lining up at the starting gate under the influence of alcohol or drugs will result in a lifetime ban from the AMA and the series.
  • Absolutely no pit bike riding, whether it is 2 wheels or 4 wheels, gas or electric. No pit riding allowed. You will have one warning at the riders’ meeting. If you are caught, you will be asked to leave, no second chances. No exceptions. You may use pedal bikes.
  • Every person entering any of our Race tracks/venues (I.E., spectator—Rider or family member) will sign a Release Form at the gate and receive an arm Band to be worn at all times. If you are to come back for the second day of racing, do not remove your arm Band. Leave it on all weekend. Everyone will be checked for Arm Bands, and riders will not be allowed to enter the track without them.
  • Spectators are never allowed on the track!
  • Photographers and reporters require a signed release and an armband to enter the track.

Scoring & Awards

  • Every class must wait 30 minutes after their second moto is scored to receive awards in case of a protest. After 30 minutes, all protests are null and void, and awards are handed out.
  • End of Series Awards: Depending on how many entries are in a particular class and how many riders completed at least 6 out of 8 races, the places to be awarded will be determined at the end of the Central States Vintage Motocross Series, LLC. race schedule.
  • Awards will be given to everyone who finishes all races without a DNF (Did Not Finish).
  • The awards banquet will be determined at a later date.
